Concorso "Il mio anglo preferito" - Contest "My favourite corner"

Eccomi, appena in tempo!
Here I am, just in time! My participation in the contest held by Giuliana – Di Cuore sees my "table of ideas" as my favorite corner. I run a home based business on the ground floor of my house where I have a studio of "creative solutions". When I read that I would have to tell and photograph my favorite corner of the house, I immediately thought of this table. My studio is the place where I spend several hours of the day, it is my world full of things and colors. There are four tables in it: "The table of decorations" where I paint, "the technological table" where there are my pc, printer and scanner, the "welcome table" where I welcome my customers and "the table of ideas" where I gather ideas and thoughts, where I development and prepare sketches and plans, where I make what little I know about other crafts, which are not painting. For all these reasons it’s my favorite corner. When I am seated at this table means that I’m in the creative mood!
Here you see it almost in its entirety with a cork-board to collect notes on the wall.

I use the cork-board as a source of inspiration, to help gather ideas when I'm developing something new and to have always near small memories. I have another one over the techno-table full of photos that I will show you next time

Close up of the table. I do not like only its function of "Table of ideas" but, just the table as an object for the home. It’s a junk finding. Once we have cleaned, many patches and signs leapt out. It must have had a very intense story before coming to me.
Close up of two "crops of ideas" ie a mix of materials and subjects to form a co-ordinated pattern line idea. In this case I made these two crops for a customer of mine that I will meet tomorrow morning.

Grazie!

Today was a beautiful spring day. The daffodils, with their colors and shapes, evoke the image of the sun, as if to say "Here we are, winter is over !"...

Among them a small shy violet egg peeps out...
No, aspettate, le uova sono due... No, wait, the eggs are two ...

No, no, sono tre... No, no, they are three ...
Sono quattro in tutto... They are four altogether...
What do four colored eggs do among daffodils? Perhaps it is a W.I.P. (work in progress) that wanted to bear daffodils company. Soon there will be a treasure hunt, or rather, a decorated egg hunt, because who knows where they will hide again next time...
For the moment Nina watches over them, because they could escape before being decorated!
While Menta, absorbed and lazy, enjoys the warm sunny day.

"Miciogatte" in mostra

For the fourth consecutive year my town has organized an exhibition entitled "Art of the women."
For a fortnight, at the Town Hall, art and creativity, born from female hearts and declined in many different shades, are exposed.
Also for this edition I was invited to participate with my creativity. For this occasion three whimsy kitties wanted to come out from my brushes to stand, attracting attention, on the mantelshelf of the mock fireplace, surrounded by my roses.

Let me introduce them: Mairin the red one, Odette the white one, Anais the gray one. I can already see them, once the exhibition will be ended, looking out the windows of my house resting on the sill inside. Mairin and Anais are high almost 2 feet tall and I think that they can be seen well from the outside! Before ending up on the sills will be transformed into patterns available to all those who want to paint and have these vain cats at home!
The fireplace has already a little story. My dad made and I painted it two years and half ago. It was part of the "Merry Christmas from London" article that I made for the "Special Christmas" issue published by Lumina in December 2006. Here are some photos of my painted forniture, decorative items and handmade decorations feaured in that issue. I imagined a Christmas in Victorian times.
Buona settimana a tutti.   Have a nice week.

These are my favorite biscuits. They are easy and quick to make. Sunday morning I duplicated the dose of the standard recipe for a total of 80 stuffing with Nutella (hazel-nut chocolate cream).

This is the recipe for about 40 biscuits
1 whole egg + 1 egg yolk
50 gr. white sugar
25 gr. brown sugar
40 gr. butter softened
100 gr. all purpose flour
85 gr. potato starch (ok also cornstarch)
50 gr cornmeal finely grounded
1/4 oz. baking powder
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 pinch of salt
Preheat the oven to 350°.
With the electric mix mount the eggs with sugar until very pale, then add the butter and a pinch of salt. When the compound is fluffy add the starch, flour, cornmeal, baking powder and vanilla extract by reducing the speed of the blender. The result is a very soft dough. On the baking pan place a sheet of parchement and arrange, using a teaspoon, a small ball of dough (just like a small walnut) few centimeters away from the previous one, because it will increase in volume during baking. My baking sheet contains about 20 biscuits. Bake for 10 minutes, separating them from the oven when they are still slightly soft and clear.

Spille & sciarpe - Pins & scarves

I created these tulip shaped pins about three years ago and they had been long since sleeping in a box in my bedroom. When my cousin Lydia, from Usa, sent me and my sister these scarves hand made by her, I have returned immediately to mind and hand the pins. The scarves are soft, cheerful, very warm and the pins are the perfect touch added to them.

Grazie Lydia!
Not happy but the effect I wanted to give a little volume and a touch of light in more to my tulips. So I added a decoration using vintage buttons, beads and silver wire. Here is the final result. Thanks a lot Lydia!
