HARVEST BLESSINGS

A stitchery where the threads have run after the colours to try to get together all the warm shades of autumn.

COLOUR SWAP

Ancora regali!!!
Another gifts day!!! Today I got a new package. At the end of summer I took part, for the first time, in a swap. I did it because the theme was the "colour", meaning that we had to send 6 gifts of the colour selected by the partner. I was paired up with Lorraine, a very lovely kiwi lady living in England.
Anyone who knows me even a little, can imagine what my favourite colours are: maroon/burgundy and rusty orange... you know... fall colours...
And this is what Lorraine has created for me
Photos do not do justice to the presents received. Each gift represent a letter of the word "COLOUR" . So let's start with a beautiful and original Curly Crochet Scarf, O as an adorable owl, L is for a sweet lavender scented heart, O for a couple of gorgeous fan-shaped oven mits. The letter U is for an unusual purse that you can see only in the first picture because my son has decided to take it with him to his grandmother this afternoon... R as roses, or better, as the amazing Redouté's roses all in a book. But the content of the package is not done here: in addition there are two brooches, one crochet and the other in tweed, always handmade by Lorraine that knew I love this kind of accessory, and also a gift for Andrea, a hot water bottle felt cover with hot water bottle inside.
Lorraine has been so generous and kind because I know she struggled with my favourite colours, and mostly because she is not feeling very well during this time. The gifts received are therefore more precious.

Her favourite colour is BLUE.  A real challange for me because I do not love it very much...
Here what I sent her.
C as chocolate... no other words to say - O olives on fabric - L as Lorraine, an hand painted photo album because she has a passion for photography - O  miniature oil lamp found at a flea market when I was at the seaside -  U useful treats: felt hair barrette with one of my buttons in the middle of it plus a blue satin bag full of scented body cream samples - R ribbons & sewing items ...
I have been really very lucky to have her as partner and to have had the opportunity to meet her world through her blog. Thanks Lorraine very much and thanks Lisa for having me paired up with her!

THE QUEEN and THE PUMPKINS

Last July I was one of the Stefania's blog candy winners
and a couple of days ago the prizes arrived here. She bought everything during her vacation.
Her itinery was Boston-Maine-New York. An amazing journey that in part I did a few years ago and  made me fall in love with Boston and New England.
Questo ciò che conteneva il pacchetto:
This is what I got:
A packet of flavoured tea, a soap shaped as a lobster, a pencil with miniature rocks from Acadia Maine's National Park, a country style snowman decoration and, the most spectacular thing ever, a Boston guide dated 1903!
When I saw it I was speechless. I wrote to the Queen, Stefania's nickname,  about my journey and my love for that land and she thought of me when she found this guide and brought it home for me! Now a small piece of Boston,  more than a hundred years old, is in my hands and I can only say thank you! You are really a great Queen!

This post could end here with dignity, however, since it's a very busy period and I don't succeed in posting as much as I would, and since I'm spending this weekend at the pc printing  250 booklets for a custom order, I continue showing what is growing in the garden during these days. I love the fruits of Autumn, but you already know that, dont' you?  and pumkins are obviously part of them.
So, ladies and gentlemen, here they are in all their glory...

Partendo da un fiore di zucca
Beginning from one pumpkin flower
eccone un cesto pieno
here's a basket full of them
Ed ora una piccola sfilata di zucche
And now a small parade of pumkins

Instead this is another pumpkin story ... a story of which I will talk you about in the coming days.
BUONA SETTIMANA A TUTTE!
HAVE A GOOD WEEK!
