Ortensie, prima parte - Hydrangeas, part one

Amo le ortensie e amo dipingerle. Qui sta iniziando la loro stagione di fioritura e questo è il mio modo di celebrarle!

I love hydrangeas and I love to paint them. Here their blooming season is just starting, so let me celebrate them!

Inizio con un paio di "recuperi pittorici" eseguiti alcuni anni fa.

Il primo recupero è stato eseguito su due ante molto vecchie e usurate, ma di uno splendido color azzurro polvere. Dopo una veloce ripulita ho solo aggiunto la decorazione con ortensie, su precisa indicazione del cliente.

Ora chiudono una dispensa in una cucina di un antico casale.

I start with a sort of custom "pictorial makeovers" in shabby style made some years ago.

This first recovery was done on two old and worm pantry doors. The powder grey/blue color was so pleasant that, after a quick cleaning, I only painted the hydrangeas, by request of my customer. Now they are in a kitchen of an old farmhouse.

Di questi due comodini stupidamente non ho fatto le foto del "prima", ma vi assicurto che il cambiamento è stato notevole. Sono stati completamente ripuliti, dipinti e decorati. Ora stanno vivendo la loro seconda vita in un'altra casa di campagna!

Of these two night table foolishly I did not take pics of the "before", but let me assure you that the change is remarkable. They have been completely cleaned, painted and decorated. Now they are living their second life in another farmhouse.

Tra i ricordi... Memories...

Stavo sistemando vecchie foto per cercare di fare un po' di ordine tra le migliaia di scatti che ormai affollano la memoria del mio pc e che vorrei tentare di archiviare su cd, quando mi sono ricomparse queste raffiguranti parte dei progetti pubblicati nel numero speciale di ADD uscito nel dicembre 2006. Ricordo in maniera strana quel periodo, mi sembra di averlo vissuto in un'alta vita. Tantissime cose sono cambiate in poco più di 4 anni, però il lavoro svolto per realizzare il tutto è ancora ben presente in me! Queste immagini rappresentano i pezzi più importanti di tutto il servizio. Visto che le festività sono da poco trascorse e il tema era "Natale a Londra in epoca vittoriana", ecco alcuni dettagli dell'opera.

I was fixing up old photos to try to sort out the thousands shots that are now crowding the memory of my computer,   in order to record,   when  these reappeared. They represent some of the projects featured in a special Xmas issue of ADD magazine released in December 2006. I remember that time in a strange way, so many things have changed in just over four years, but the work done to make the whole scene is still alive in me! These images represent the most important pieces of the publication. Since Holidays have just passed and the theme was "Christmas in London in Victorian times", here are some details of the work.

Il negozio - The shop

La passione per gli angeli è una delle tante cose che mi accomuna a mia sorella Elena.

Per sentirsi sempre circondata da queste creature celesti lei ha deciso di chiamare la sua ERBORISTERIA "Il Giardino degli Angeli". Quello che potevo fare io era dipingere il negozio seguendo l'ispirazione che quel nome mi dava. L'impronta di tutto l'insieme è rustica, calda e accogliente. Il giardino degli Angeli è a S.Maria della Versa (Pavia) Via Roma n.12.

Nei prossimi giorni posterò "I consigli dal giardino degli angeli", piccoli suggerimenti dati da Elena per vivere meglio con le erbe.
The passion for the Angels is one of the many things that I share with my sister Elena.

To feel always surrounded by these heavenly creatures she decided to call her HERBAL SHOP "The Angels' Garden". What I could do was paint the shop following the inspiration that name gave me. Her shop is rustic, warm, cozy and welcoming.
Soon "Tips from the Angels' Garden", quick advices written by Elena to live better with herbs.
